Into my mailbox came this wonderful reading journal developed by Rachelle Rogers Knight, who writes the blog Bibliobabe. This reading journal for book lovers is divided into the following categories:
- Awards and Notable Lists (including the Pulitzer Prize, National Book Awards, PEN/Faulkner Award and more)
- To Read (in which you can record the book, author and notes of books you own, recommend, plan to read, or want)
- Journal Pages (in which you can record the title, author, reason for reading, who recommended it, words to define and passages to remember)
- Recommendations (in which you can list books you’d like to recommend to others)
- Loaner Lists
- References and Resources (in which you can find helpful links to information on worldwide fiction awards, links for blogs, social networking sites and resources for book clubs)
I have one copy to give away. Just leave a comment as to why you would enjoy this journal, or how you would use it, to enter. The winner will be announced next Monday, April 26, 2010.
(Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page.)
I would enjoy having this to flaunt it and also as an inspiration to read the books on the list! :)As I used post-it as bookmark and record my thoughts on the books I read (I know it's not very efficient), it would be a dream to have the journal keep all my thoughts in one place.

I would love this book, because it would not only provide me with ideas of what books to tackle next, but it would also get me to actually document my latest reads and what I thought of them. Plus, I always lend out books and forget about them – this way I'll be more organized. Thanks for hosting this lovely giveaway!! Cheers!!

I would love this journal….1st for a "to read" list. so many times people give me great titles, but my menopausal brain forgets them and can't pull them back up! 2nd to write down who I loan books too….I can't tell you how many books I have lost because I can't remember who I loaned it to. mmmmmm, both come down to memory….what does that tell ya?!

It will help me in having some method to the somewhat haphazard way of doing things right now.Thank you for hosting this.

Sara, your memory and mine are related! To me, the best part about this book was the list of award winners. When you're not sure quite what to pick up next, that's a great place to start! I wouldn't use the Loaned To section, though, because the only person I loan books to is my mom (who reads them faster than I ever could and always returns them in a week!). I find it's easier just to give books away, rather than expect them back from most people. 🙂

What a fantastic journal. I would love a copy! It would be nice to have a place to record books that I absolutely love. Friends & family are always asking for recommendations and sometimes I sort of draw a blank… so it would be good to have a journal to reference. I used goodreads.com, which is great, but there is something about having it written down on paper.

I would love this book, because it'd provide new ideas on what to read and seems to contain so many wonderful lists to keep track of what you've read and want to read. I do fear that a lot more would be added to my TBR-pile, but let's ignore that there's any downside to that (I don't think there is, apart from time-issues).I'm not sure if you allow European participants. I have looked at the book, but it doesn't seem to ship to Europe through the site that sells it. Anyway, if it's a US-only giveaway (which I'd understand), please feel free to delete this comment.

Bellezza, I am almost done writing in all my "notebooks" and rather than get a new supply, I'd love to have an actual journal devoted to reading. Thanks for hosting this giveaway. 🙂

I've been eyeing this journal myself…I love, love, love journals of all kinds, and this one looks particularly appealing. I would like to see how she's put it all together and be able to benefit from all her hard work creating lists & recommendations!

Stopped to visit and see what you were up to. Yes, by all means pick me for the journal give away. Sorry, that was my "desire" nature that is always aroused at the idea of more things to read. :)Seriously, I never loan books; I only give them away. That way I am able to share my favorite reads and not damage friendships. Currently, I am reading Green Plums by Herta Muller.

I have been so many hours otherwise involved with work and conferences and managerial meetins, but anon, I'm here! and loved your "friday fillins" entry, with your thinking about cursing which made me lol as I have become fond of a certain word lately but only in a literary sense, and with your very wonderful dinner of wine and water crackers and other thoughtful items which made me think about how easy it is to have a simple delicious meal when I am NOT busy rather than when I am and you would think it would be the opposite, and YES! looking forward to your Japanese Lit challenge – in July? was it then that I signed up for my first one…nearly a year ago? It opeend so many doors. Good luck with your reading stack and your papers to correct (the one thing I do not miss about teaching!) and will visit here again soon. It always is so lovely.

I've read great reviews of this book journal and I love that it has so many features in one journal. I'd love to use the journal and the references sound like a nice resource.

I love that this journal comes with lists already in it, and then there's the whole appeal of being able to write down all the books I want to read in one place instead of on random scraps of paper that inevitably get lost, thus negating the whole purpose of writing titles down in the first place! This is something that I would just keep in my purse all the time!

The journal sounds great! I'm always on a lookout for new reading journals. Why I want to win this? Hmm…perhaps I'm a book lover? Need I say more? 🙂

Ooh…I would love one of these. It seems such a lovely idea to record your books and book thoughts in a journal (hard-copy) rather than online. Plus, it would be good hand-writing practice 🙂

What a great book! I like the 'loaner lists' part. I stopped lending books to people because I wouldn't get them back (and I am possessive about my books). With a book like that you could make a point of writing in the details with the lendee present! And it doesn't seem 'too' anal because the book is so pretty 🙂 great idea!

I would love to have the journal, if only for the award list. I'm a bit obsessed on award winners 😀

I'm disorganized and keep telling myself I need to read award books but can't ever keep track of the lists I set aside (seriously – that bad). Side note: My eldest son just put in his 2-week notice and is going to live in sin with his girlfriend. Could you move in next door to me? I could use a Bellezza, a Les and some coffee & book chatting to distract me. 🙂

I'd move next to you, anyday. Talk about a neighborhood with you, me and Les! We'd all quit our jobs, I suspect!
